Shannaz's account of Outing 24/1/10

I must say, we all had a great time. At least for those whose hand phone, ez link card, IC and $50 note did not go missing. (Points to Kenneth Lee and Oswin)

We all met at Plaza Sing exit at Dhoby Ghaut. The SMS said to meet at 12.30pm. Fortunately, most of the guitar peeps like Oswin, Ken L, Ken F, CS, Fiona and Amanda already reached by the time I met them…at 1pm (fyi: I did leave my house at 11.30. I just had to go to Bugis!)

Afterwards, we were deciding where to eat. Amanda mentioned at that point that she wished Jerry was here to support her. Then, the idea of Swensen’s came up- I believe there were groans which were gracefully ignored (is that even possible?) Oswin and I followed Amanda to withdraw money while the rest went first.

After the three of us reached and the waiter brought us to “the big group of friends” (the dude said that and I thought he called someone fat), everyone there started to place our order. CS/Fiona, Ken L and Oswin topped up $5 to get soup of the day+ drink+ ice cream. The soup of the day was seafood and it was terrible. It tasted like grounded fish powder dissolved in milk with a pinch of salt. Yes, it tasted really bad. While waiting for the main courses, CS pulled out of his Mac book and shows to us a presentation of his NS trip to Australia. The food looked great over there and it was kind of cool to see CS in the pilot uniform. Couple of minutes later, Rui Xiang arrived and placed his order too. Then we all got our food. Oswin kept pepper-ing Amanda’s Aglio Olio which she found to be quite spicy I think. Fiona’s spaghetti beef meatballs were attractive, I thought. Then we were all talking about the usual “oh when is a levels result coming out? What course you want to do? Which company are you in? How was SATs?” Apparently, Rui Xiang brought a pencil to SATs and when the lead broke, he tried to put it back in and struggled with the rest of the exam. Haha. I also brought up this fund raising event that my friend is doing and I would like to advertise it now too. It is for the single parents who are struggling financially. Cookies are sold, $10/jar. If you are interested let me know (90605333) because pre orders need to be submitted. Obviously when I said it, Oswin thought I was baking the cookies (?!) but I am not. Nevertheless support the cause! Well getting back to the story, SU YIN CAME! We have not seen this “lovely” creature for such a long time! We were thrilled and most importantly, none of us knew there was an all-day-breakfast platter for $10.50 which she ordered!! And she gets juice and coffee and a plate of goodies! For $10.50! Oh well. Then she couldn’t believe that Oswin lost his “mojo jojo” and that it was soft. Then, I believed Oswin or Amanda added salt and pepper to Kenneth Lee’s coke. Gross. Speaking of which, Oswin added salt and pepper and tomato sauce on Su Yin’s tomato (…sounds a bit wrong) Then, Dickson came! Oh Su Yin was rejoicing that her ex-hubby was back! She mentioned “He is always late *sheepish grin*” Haha. At this time, I believe my hand phone and wallet was stolen by the one and only Kenneth Lee. He started taking out my ez link card and IC and passed it to Rui Xiang who kept it while I was going berserk. Kenneth also gave my hand phone to Oswin. You know what’s worse?? After we left, Oswin said that my hand phone was in the freaking cutlery basket and when we went in, he said no no it isn’t here! Yes, after playing a game of hide and seek, I got my phone back (hmph!)

Oh right, the bill was settled thanks to CS and Fiona by appropriately dividing...the numbers..haha. Oh and Amanda’s $50 was missing and we were all freaking out as to where it went and Amanda was really worried then Oswin pulled it out and gave it back(irritating? I think so too). After which, we went down and Oswin bought some sushi. Then Amanda, Oswin, Ken Lee and Ken Fong headed back home or wherever. (Oswin attempted to take Su Yin’s wallet from inside the MRT but failed) Then, CS, Fiona, Dickson, Rui Xiang, Su Yin and I went to play L4D2 somewhere in the Dhoby Ghaut MRT haha. It was Su Yin’s first time! It was super duper fun. I kept dying though and I missed Yiying at that point but it was really cool with Dickson helping me and Su Yin along the way. Fun fun. I think we played closed to 3 hours. After that, all of us left except Fiona and CS who went to play arcade.
